As always, keep it simple. Sit down to eat your food and:
Step 1: Really take in your food. Notice the colors, the smells, the textures. Savour the taste of each mouthful and notice how it changes from first bite to last, and from first chew to when you swallow.
Step 2: Slow down. Chew each mouthful thoroughly and put down your cutlery until you have finished your mouthful and are ready for the next.
Step 3: Pause now and then. Breathe and look around in between mouthfuls. Check in with your hunger – do you need any more food? How are you feeling physically right now? Are you satisfied?
Rinse and repeat.
Why?
Because you’re worth the time it takes to nourish yourself fully in this way.
